Background

Every year, Intuit hires and rehires around 30 thousand tax and bookkeeping experts. All of these individuals are remote workers, and we send them the tools so they can do their jobs well. These welcome kits include a computer, headset, backsplash and other accessories one would need to serve Intuit’s customers – along with a note from Intuit leadership and instructions on how to set up their workstation.

For the instructions, we only need to tell the expert what they need to know to get set up. Any other info can be saved for elsewhere.

Learnings

I went through this project twice. Some of the things we learned in 2021 is that people didn’t realize the packet included instructions. In order to make that distinction, I worked with my visual partners to create a set of instructions that “looked like instructions” and let the elevated visuals speak for the brand positioning. Another thing we did in 2022, we went a lot bolder with the copy. I believe the work shows for itself.
